My Recursive Writing Process

Throughout the semester I have been adding to my recursive writing process. I have been writing down strategies that have helped me this semester when approaching the revision process of my papers. Specifically these are the skills that I hope to take with me as I transfer from English 110 to my other course throughout my time here at UNE. The skills that I utilize the most off of my recursive writing sheet include, reading twice and annotating, under active reading strategies. My favorite reading strategies include the three comparison column, I feel I work best when I can see all of my information laid out right in front of me before I begin my paper. My favorite drafting strategy is to just sit down and write an entire first draft, it often is never very good but it is just to get all of my ideas out on paper and then just forget about it for a day or so, so when I return I can look at it with fresh eyes. The revision strategies listed above are all of the strategies that I do when I revise any of my papers. Lastly, the polishing strategies that I utilize before I am about to turn in my finalized paper is a round of peer review for local edits and I read my paper aloud to myself. I feel that over the course of the semester I have learned the strategies that work best for me when writing a paper.
