The first time peer revising was definitely different that anything I have done before, and prioritizing global edits over local edits was defiantly a bit of a challenge. In school I had never been tasked with revising the content of my peers papers, we were always told to look for punctuation mistakes and word choice. This was a little bit out of my comfort zone because as I was revising my peers papers I was not always sure how much input I should give. I feel that everyone has their own writing style and for me to make comments about changes they could make to their overall paper seem a little bit intimidating. I felt that while revising if I came across a change in there paper that I might make, I would feel that it is not my paper and my peer might completely disagree with me or think that my idea was incorrect. I understand that at the end of the day the writer makes the final decision and that is how it should be, I just think I worry too much about other peoples emotions regarding their own work. Think that having someone else read your paper and revise it for global edits and main ideas is super important and I am always looking for the input of others, I just think I am not entirely comfortable with it yet. I hope that my peers find my input to be beneficial and that by working together we can all improve the overall quality of our papers.
